Quest Guide

Type @guide to see your next quest step and open the navigation window to it. Works for The Veil Chronicle, eight official story chains and the first, second and transcendent job changes.

Updated 4 October 2026quest guide@guidenavigationquests
The Quest Guide tells you where you are in a quest chain and shows you the way to the next step. It reads the same quest log the quest NPCs use, so it always matches your real progress. It never changes your quests.

How to open it

  • Type @guide anywhere, or
  • talk to the Quest Guide in Prontera, by the west door of the library .

What you see

  1. A list of the chains for your base level. Finished chains are marked (done). If you follow a chain, Continue comes first.
  2. Pick a chain. The guide shows your current step: its name, what to do and where, and what you need first (for example a base level).
  3. Pick one of the buttons:
    • Show me the way: opens the client's navigation window with the route to the NPC. If you are already on that map, it also marks the NPC on your minimap.
    • Show me the hunting ground: only on steps that send you to hunt a monster.
    • Follow this chain: see below.
If a step is handed out by an NPC you have not met yet, the guide says "Start with" that NPC and leads you there first.

Follow a chain

While you follow a chain, the guide checks your progress every 10 seconds. It tells you in chat when a step is done and what comes next, and again when the chain is finished. Following continues after you log out and in. Pick Stop following in the guide to end it.

While you are a Novice, the guide also lists the official first job changes (category Job change); they disappear once you have a job.

Rebirth and transcendent jobs

At base level 99 and job level 50, a second job can be reborn in Juno: donate 1,285,000 zeny at the library, read the Book of Ymir and ask the Valkyrie for rebirth while carrying nothing (no items, no zeny, no cart, falcon or mount). You start again as a High Novice, take the High first job at your old guild, and at job level 40 the Book of Ymir takes you to the Hall of Honor for the transcendent job. Each chain has 5 steps and stays in the guide through the whole rebirth.
