Group Finder

No group for a Veil instance, or too few? Queue alone or with your party with @finder or at any Veil Muster: the finder builds or fills a 6-12 player group with tanks and healers, opens the instance and pays a bonus for the clear.

Updated 4 October 2026instance12-manpartyfinder
The Veil instances need six to twelve players. If you have no group, the group finder builds one for you: you queue alone, it picks a balanced party, opens the instance and brings everyone in. If your party is too small, its leader queues the whole party and the finder fills the empty places.
Open ittype @finder, or talk to any Veil Muster and pick Group finder

Who can queuealone: one character per account, not in a party; as a party: 2 to 11 members, all online, queued by the leader. Everyone inside the instance's level band (up to 10 levels above it)
Full group12 players: 2 tanks, 3 healers, 7 DPS
Smaller groupafter 5 minutes: 6-11 players (3-11 in The Drowned Culvert) with at least 1 tank and 1 healer
Ready check60 seconds to type @finder go

Queueing

  1. Type @finder (or talk to a Veil Muster and pick Group finder).
  2. Pick the instance. You only see the ones your level fits, with how many players already wait for each.
  3. Pick the difficulty: Normal for any class, Heroic with a 3rd class, Mythic with a 4th class (Heroic and Mythic also need The Veil Chronicle).
  4. Pick every role you can play: Tank, Healer, DPS. Your class's usual roles are ticked for you. You may pick any role, but the finder warns you first if your class rarely plays it (for example a Wizard as Tank).
  5. Pick Join the queue, and stay out of a party while you wait.
@finder again shows your place: how long you have waited and how many tanks, healers and DPS are in your queue.

Queueing with your party

  1. The party leader types @finder (or picks Group finder at a Veil Muster). Everyone in the party must be online, and nobody may be in the queue already or blocked as a deserter.
  2. Pick the instance: only the ones that fit every member's level are shown.
  3. Pick the difficulty: only the ones every member's class may play (Heroic: all 3rd or 4th class, Mythic: all 4th class). The Veil Chronicle is checked for each member when they accept the ready check.
  4. Set each member's roles: pick a name to tick their Tank, Healer and DPS boxes. Each class's usual roles are ticked for you.
  5. Pick Join the queue. The whole party sees a message, and @finder shows each member their role.
The finder keeps your party together: it takes all of you or none, never puts two queued parties in one group, and always adds at least one player from the queue. When the group is ready, every member types @finder go. The players who fill your party join it, and they leave it again when the run ends.
Your whole party leaves the queue if one member leaves it, declines or misses a ready check, leaves or joins the party, stays logged out for more than 5 minutes, or leaves the level range. While your party is queued, it can't open a run at a Veil Muster.

The ready check

When your group is ready, a message at the top of your screen tells you the instance, the group size and the role you will play. You then have 60 seconds:
  • @finder go (or Accept in the @finder menu) accepts.
  • @finder no leaves the queue.
There is no pop-up window, so a ready check never freezes you in the middle of a fight. When everyone has accepted, the finder creates the party (named "Veil Finder" and a number), or adds the other players to a queued party, opens the instance and brings you all to its entrance. If someone declines or misses the check, they leave the queue (with their whole party, if they queued as one) and everyone else keeps their place.

How the finder picks a group

  • The players who have waited longest come first.
  • If you picked several roles, the finder gives you the one the group needs. It can also move you to another of your roles later, if that lets a player who has only one role in.
  • A full group forms as soon as 2 tanks, 3 healers and 7 DPS are queued.
  • Once the longest-waiting player has waited 5 minutes, a smaller group may go: from 6 players (3 in The Drowned Culvert) up to 11, with at least one tank and one healer. It still never takes more than 2 tanks, 3 healers or 7 DPS. The monsters scale to the group's size.

During the run

  • Inside a Veil instance nobody can leave the party or be removed from it.
  • If you fall, the usual rule applies: the Veil raises you after 60 seconds, except before the last boss.
  • If you leave the instance (with @veilleave, by returning to your save point, or by logging out), you have 5 minutes to come back: talk to a Veil Muster and pick Enter.
  • Away for longer, or still away when an unfinished run closes, and you count as a deserter: no group finder for 30 minutes, and no finder bonus for that run.
  • When the run ends, everyone returns to their save point. A party the finder created disbands; a party that queued stays together, and the players who filled it leave it (someone who is logged out at that moment leaves at their next login).

Rewards

You get the instance's normal weekly reward (see its page), plus the finder bonus when the last boss falls while you are there:
  • +50 Hunting Coin for every finder clear.
  • +100 more if you played a role the queue was short of when you joined. The menu shows it ("Tanks needed: +100 Hunting Coins" while fewer than 2 tanks wait, "Healers needed" while fewer than 3 healers wait).
The bonus counts toward the daily Hunting Coin cap like every other coin reward. Players far above the band (more than 10 levels over its maximum) get no bonus. Your weekly clear of an instance can be done already: you can still queue to help, without the weekly reward, and the finder bonus still counts.
Achievement: Answered the Call: clear 10 Veil instances through the group finder.
