Memorial dungeon
A hospital where the patients scream and the ward doors open one by one.
Something called Bangungot is haunting the second floor of the hospital in Port Malaya. Nurse Maenne waits at the door of the first floor and sends parties up. The run has three parts: six wards that open one after another, a boss room where the floor plays tricks on you, and a short race against a Pillar of Spirit that keeps the boss alive.
How to go
- Be level 100 or higher. Under 100 the nurse says nothing at all.
- Reach the door in the story first. The nurse lets you up only after the early steps of the Nurse in Port Malaya quest chain (Nurse Las, the old shaman and the talisman). That chain is not on this wiki yet.
- Be in a party. Alone she says "I can't talk to him alone, register a party first".
- The leader talks to her and picks Prepare to enter the second floor. If the floor cannot be made, she says something critical has happened.
- Everyone else picks Enter the second floor. A map announcement tells the hospital which party went up.
Going up sets Explore Hospital 2F (at least 7 days, ending at 04:00 server time). In the story run, the nurse then says the entrance is closed until that quest ends, so you cannot go back up after leaving. In a weekly run she lets you in again for as long as the floor lives (1 hour).
First run and weekly runs
- First time. The first run is the end of the Nurse in Port Malaya story. The kill that counts is the Pillar of Spirit (quest "Nurse at Port Malaya-26"). The story pays its own reward, not covered here.
- After the story. Each week the nurse tells you Bangungot has come back and asks for help again. A weekly run sets the quest Get Rid of Bangungot from Hospital 2F. Its one target is also the Pillar of Spirit.
- When you have killed the pillar, talk to Nurse Maenne again. She needs free weight (room for eleven small items) and pays out the reward below. Then Will there be Peace at the Hospital? starts, and she asks you to come back later. When it ends (at least 7 days, at 04:00 server time), she offers the next run.
Inside
You arrive at (40, 157) in a long corridor. The floor has two halves that look the same: the real wing around y 137 to 177 where you start, and a lower wing around y 40 to 90 where you will be thrown later.
The six wards
Step on the spot at (43, 157). Bangungot shouts at you and one
Mangkukulam comes out. Kill it and the first ward fills. Each time a ward is empty, Bangungot taunts and the next one opens:
| Ward | Where | What appears |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | around (51, 172) | 2 Mangkukulam |
| 2 | around (51, 138) | 2 Mangkukulam |
| 3 | around (72, 172) | 3 Mangkukulam |
| 4 | around (74, 140) | 3 Mangkukulam |
| 5 | around (96, 175) | 4 Mangkukulam |
| 6 | around (95, 139) | 4 Mangkukulam and 1 Manananggal |
When ward 6 is empty, Bangungot says "You had the choice to enter here, but you have no choice to get out as you want...". The doors at (105, 157) and (112, 157) open, and he appears in the boss room at (143, 158).
The boss room and the floor trick
The
Bangungot is a level 115 Demon with about 1,519,517 HP. The first time anyone steps into the boss room, a cycle of about 130 seconds starts. It runs on timers:
- About 60 seconds in, invisible warps on the corridor, the wards and the boss room floor turn on. They send you to (117, 63) in the lower wing.
- The way back from the lower wing is closed by then (it was switched off at 25 and 35 seconds). The first person to arrive sets off the ward mobs: after 10 seconds a group of 7 Tiyanak and Mangkukulam appears in one of six lower wards, and Bangungot says his inferiors are bothering the patients.
- Kill them all and the upper warps switch off about 9 seconds later, the way back to (116, 157) opens about a second after that, and the cycle stops. Stepping into the boss room again starts it over.
- If you do not, the cycle ends at about 130 seconds and the way back opens anyway.
- At 90 s, 110 s and 129.5 s, while the cycle still runs, one Manananggal (level 107, 204,511 HP) is added to the boss room.
The Pillar of Spirit
When Bangungot dies, he says "I... cannot... finish... like... this", and one second later a Pillar of Spirit (
Bangungot) appears at (131, 157). For the first 21 seconds Bangungot keeps calling out that the pillar is healing him. You have 30 seconds to kill it.
- If it dies, the other monsters in the boss room vanish, Bangungot says "I WILL BE BACK!!!!!", and the exit at (35, 156) opens. It leads back to the hospital entrance at (150, 9).
- If it does not, the pillar disappears, Bangungot announces his return, and at 36 seconds a fresh Bangungot spawns at (143, 158). You start the boss fight over.
The pillar has 250 HP, but it takes minimal damage from melee, ranged and magic hits alike, so bring many fast hitters.
Rewards
At Nurse Maenne after a weekly run:
- 500,000 base EXP (no job EXP)
- 5 Ancient Grudge
The monsters' own drops. Bangungot and the pillar share one list, except that the Piece of Bangungot's Spirit comes from the pillar at 20 % and from Bangungot at 0.5 %:
| Drop | Chance |
|---|---|
| Ancient Grudge | 100 %, plus 20 % |
| Bangungot Doll | 20 % |
| Piece of Bangungot's Spirit | 20 % from the pillar |
| Bangungot Boots of Nightmare | 10 % |
| Kalasag | 1 % |
| Bangungot Card | 0.01 % |
The pillar also gives 781,541 base EXP and has a 55 % bonus drop of Old Purple Box. Bangungot himself gives no EXP.
Notes
- A second Bangungot (level 99, 1,409,758 HP, same minimal-damage marks) stands in the lower wing from the start.
- The monster pages call them "Mangkukulam" and "Manananggal". The shouts call them "Bangungot's Mangkukulam" and "Bangungot's Manananggal".
