The angry old man: Talk to the old man Hikeman behind the pub in Einbech (einbech, 165,105). He takes you for someone he hates and starts to scream. Ask what he means; he blames you for a mine tunnel collapse long ago and for the death of his friends. Talk to him a second time and let him finish his rant, then back off. No level limit. Quest log 2071, then 2072. A Young Man in Einbech (einbech, 57,210) gossips about the old man but gives no clue.
Buender Hikeman: -
The sick old man: In Einbroch, in the house with the sick old man (ein_in01, 231,163), talk to the man in the bed. Ask him about Hikeman and the tunnel; he gives himself away as Shinokas and tells you the story of the ore they found. Hear it out and he asks you to search the city for a similar ore, starting with the richest family, the Kapellthains. Quest log 2073, then 2074. He names the Kapellthain manor on the road to the airport.
Sick Old Man: -
The Kapellthains' maid: Ask the Maid in the Kapellthain manor (ein_in01, 32,133) if she has seen a strange ore. She has not.
Maid: -
Search the factory: Tell Shinokas you found nothing, and he sends you to the factory. Finish the factory inspection there (the Factory Inspection chain, up to the report to the superintendent), return to Shinokas and tell him nothing there fits. When he asks where the ore could be, choose 'Laboratory'. Without the factory part he only asks you to check the factory again. The other answers (Airport, Factory, Train Station, Airship Repairshop) send you back to answer again. Quest log 2075, then 2076.

Into the laboratory: Walk to the Security panel at the Einbroch laboratory (einbroch, 51,52). Choose 'Identify': it shows two lines of text you must type back exactly, case and punctuation included, within 60 seconds, then you are warped inside (ein_in01, 283,25). Talk to the Scientist (ein_in01, 254,35), pretend to be the new guard, and ask what is wrong. He grumbles that the Lab Department Head spends his days on an airship. Too slow or a wrong line and you are locked out; start again. The Laboratory Soldiers at einbroch 51,46 and 51,56 only tell you to leave.

The dice game: Find the Drunken Man on the airship (airplane, 31,77). He is losing apples at dice to Kaci. Offer him your Apples: you need at least 100, he takes all of them, and each game he wins only 3 times in 10, so bring more if you lose. When he wins he is grateful, and he lets slip what the laboratory's secret project is: Ymir's Heart. Below 11 Apples, or from 11 to 99, he turns you away. Quest log 2076, then 2077.
Drunken Man: -
Shinokas: Return to the sick old man's room (ein_in01, 231,163). A trail of red footprints and a bloodstained bed meet you at the door (ein_in01, 231,170). Shinokas is dying. When he asks what is so special about the ore, answer 'Ymir'. He dies. Any other answer gives him a worse last moment, but the quest goes on the same. Quest log 2078.

Hikeman's last word: Go back to Hikeman in Einbech (einbech, 165,105). Wake him, say you came to clear up a misunderstanding, and choose to tell him that Shinokas has died. He wants only to be left alone. Quest log 2078 completes. If you choose not to tell him nothing is paid and the quest stays open; talk to him again and tell him. Reward: base EXP and job EXP: under 70 30,000 each, 70-79 40,000 each, 80-89 70,000 each, 90 and up 90,000 each (renewal).
