The doctor of Luoyang: From base level 40, visit Doctor Hua Tuo in his office (lou_in02, 265,69). He talks about pressure points and asks whether you can help him; a coughing patient waits at (272,55). Under level 40 he only gives advice.

The errand: Offer your help, and say you don't mind. Hua Tuo is out of medicine and cannot leave his patients: he sends you to the Tool Shop. Quest log 11044. Pick 'I can help you', then 'I don't mind, I'd be glad to help'.

The Tool Shop master: Tell the Tool Shop Master (248,166) you are here for the doctor. He sends you to the storage on the other side of the building.

The storage keeper: Ask the Storage Keeper (201,166) for the doctor's medicine: choose 'I'm on an errand for the doctor'. He grumbles and offers a deal: fetch a paper from the city hall first, or look for the medicine yourself. If he sets you the paper errand he names one of four forms: Residence Transfer Application, Summer SAT Class Application, Sandy Dust Phenomenon Report or Communication Proposal. The medicine: Two ways to get Herbal Medicine. (a) Search the supply stacks next to the keeper, (204,169), (207,168), (206,163), (198,170) or (192,170); each has about a one-in-hundred chance per search. (b) Do his favour: the City Hall Officer (210,47) hints at a bribe, so offer him at least 10,000 zeny and he points you upstairs; the Studying Officer (156,38) hands you the form (ignore his studying; ask for your documents); bring it to the keeper, who gives you the medicine. Quest log 11055-11056.

Medicine for the doctor: Bring the Herbal Medicine to Hua Tuo. He thanks you with 2 Pilules and base EXP, and asks if you will do another favour. Quest log 11056 completes. Needs 1 Herbal Medicine. Reward: 2 Pilule, 1,000 base EXP (renewal).

Another favour: Say 'No problem' when he asks for more help. He lists the medicine stock he needs for the clinic. Quest log 11057.

Stocking the clinic: Bring Hua Tuo 2 Leopard Claws, 10 Solid Peaches, 5 Poisonous Toad Skins, 20 Brown Roots, 10 Sprouts and 5 Honey Pots. He gives you 5 Pilules and base EXP, and the quest ends. Quest log 11057 completes. Reward: 5 Pilule, 10,000 base EXP (renewal).
