Infinite Space

A 50-floor climb for level 100 and up: clear every floor, meet a boss on floors 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50, and collect Shattered Magic Stones to spend on Infinity weapons and Rift armor.

Fifty floors of the same rule: kill everything, then climb.
Below the fallen lighthouse of Pharos there is a tower of rooms that never ends, or so the Reckless Explorer says. Each floor is one arena. You kill what is in it, the gate opens, and the next floor appears. Every tenth floor is a boss. The reward is a pile of magic stones, and the stones buy gear.

How to go

  1. Talk to the Reckless Explorer on Beacon Island. The first talk starts and finishes the quest "Fallen Paros Lighthouse". After that he asks for a party.
  2. The leader picks "Prepare to enter Infinite Space". This reserves the instance. If you are alone, that is fine, you are a one-person party.
  3. Everyone walks into the Temporary Entrance at and confirms. Walking in sets the quest "Gloomy Spirit of the Underground", which lasts 3 hours. While it runs the Explorer says his body is tired and will not open another run.
The Explorer also gives a red warning that taming monsters may hinder your progress.

Pick a mode

You arrive on the first floor at (30, 10). The Explorer stands next to you at (42, 8). Only the party leader can talk to him and choose:
ModeWhat changes
NormalA Shining Poring has a 1 % chance to show up
DifficultA Shining Poring has a 2 % chance, every floor can add an elite monster, bosses call helpers, and the chests give more stones and a chance at Infinity weapons

Floors

There are 50 floors. On each one the room fills with monsters, between 9 and 31 depending on the floor (floor 1 has 14, floor 5 has 18, floor 15 has 30, floor 45 has 31, floor 46 has 9). Kill every one of them. The room then announces that the area is safe and opens a warp. The next floor spawns when the leader steps through it.
The monsters get tougher as you climb. They start at level 100 (
Poring
,
Lunatic
,
Fabre
and Picky, 25,000 HP) and rise to level 109 (
Megalith
and
Dryad
, 160,000 HP each), so the arena names are the old familiar ones with a lot more health. A standard monster gives 1,200 base EXP on floor 1 and 7,000 on the highest floors.

Elites in difficult mode

On each ordinary floor (not the boss floors) there is a 10 % chance of one extra elite from this list:
EliteLevelHPBase EXP

Each elite drops a Shattered Magic Stone every time.

The helpers are level 100 with 100,000 HP and give no EXP.
In difficult mode, 10 seconds after the boss appears he starts to call for backup. Up to 10 waves arrive, one every 5 seconds, each with 3 to 5 more helpers. The room announces it with "The boss monster is trying to summon its allies". Kill the helpers or burn the boss down fast, because the room gets crowded.
Every boss drops a Shattered Magic Stone every time (a 100 % chance), on top of the ordinary drops.

The Shining Poring

A
Shining Poring
can appear at the start of a floor and each time a monster dies, with the chance from your mode (1 % normal, 2 % difficult). It has 15 HP, takes only 1 damage from every hit, blocks teleporting, and vanishes after 20 seconds. If you pop it in time it drops Shattered Magic Stone through eight separate 30 % rolls. It is a small bonus, so a fast hit is worth more than a clever one.

Treasure chest

After each boss floor a chest appears. Only the party leader can open it. It drops Shattered Magic Stone in a pile:
ModeStones in the pile
Normal3 to 10
Difficult6 to 22
In difficult mode the chest also has a 1 % chance for each of the ten Infinity weapons: Infinity Wire, Infinity Violin, Infinity Shuriken, Infinity Handgun, Infinity Dagger, Infinity Staff, Infinity Mace, Infinity Two-Handed Sword, Infinity Two-Handed Axe and Infinity Bow.

Leaving

On floor 50 the Reckless Explorer stands again at (366, 392) and sends you out to Beacon Island at . The instance closes after one hour whatever you do, so a full 50-floor run needs a strong party.

What the stones buy

The Shattered Magic Stone is spent only at two of these four people on Beacon Island (the Appraiser and the Enhancer). The other two sell supplies:
NPCWhereWhat he does
Emergency Food MerchantSells Apple, Banana, Carrot and Potato for zeny
Ruins Black TraderSells the Return to Infinity Dungeon Scroll for 20,000 zeny. It warps you to Beacon Island at (83, 270)
Artifact AppraiserTurns 50 stones into one gear piece (list below)
Artifact EnhancerAdds or resets enchants on those same pieces

The Appraiser

He charges 50 stones per piece. The weapons are the ten Infinity weapons above. The armor side has four pieces: Ancient Armor of Rift, Shoes of Rift, Manteau of Rift and Ancient Decoration of Rift.

The Enhancer

He only works on those 14 items. An add costs 20 stones and cannot break the item. A reset costs 30 stones. Enchants go into slot 4 first, then slot 3; he refuses anything beyond the third slot. You pick a type, Physical, Magical or Range, and the roll depends on it:
ItemFirst rollSecond roll
WeaponSTR +1 or +2 (Physical), INT +1 or +2 (Magical), DEX +1 or +2 (Range)Fighting Spirit Lv 1 to 8 (Physical), Spell Lv 1 to 8 (Magical), Expert Archer Lv 1 to 8 (Range)

Notes

  • The Explorer's hour is real: the instance lives 1 hour, the wait before the next entry is 3 hours.
  • Monster names on the arena floors are the usual ones (Poring, Lunatic and so on, the "Infinite" versions with more HP). The elites and bosses carry the name "Infinite" in front.
