Walkthrough

  1. A job for the newcomer: Talk to the Pursuit Party Leader (Captain Echinacea) at the west of the camp. The party follows the traces of
    Satan Morocc    , and she sends you to help Mr. Kidd near the space gap. Bring a light bag: she turns you away if you carry too much.
    Pursuit Party Leader:
  2. Mr. Kidd at the gate: Mr. Kidd warns you off the space gap but gives you an errand: go see Rin in the underground tavern in south-west Morocc. If you say you do not want to help, he sends you back to the Leader, who scolds you and sends you straight back to him.
    Mr. Kidd:
  3. The underground tavern: In south-west Morocc, find the Sharp-Looking Boy outside the tavern and step through the doorway at 45,110 to the underground tavern. Ask the Bar Master about Rin: she is in the room in the back, still wounded from a mission. Tavern map que_job01. You can also buy a Tropical Sograt or Vermilion the Beach for 1,000 zeny.

  4. Rin in her sickbed: Talk to Rin in the back room. She was beaten by Rayan's gang, the Dandelions, and wants you to look for traces near the mountain west of Abyss Lake, south of its second hill.
    Rin:
  5. Heap of earth: Search the heap of earth in the Hugel field near 235,103 for the Bloody Crystal of the Darkness (Crystal of Feardoom).
    Heap of Earth:
  6. The journal: Show the crystal to Rin. She is sure it is the same dark crystal as on Satan Morocc and his minions and gives you her journal (Morocc Tracing Log) for Mr. Kidd.
  7. Kidd and the crystal: Give Mr. Kidd the journal and the crystal. When you touch the crystal it pulls your mind into a vision and warps you. Reward: 20,000 base EXP and 1,000 job EXP.
  8. The vision: In the vision map (que_dan01) you find a Corpse near 49,36; search it for a Seal Scroll. Then you wake up in the camp with Kidd calling your name. The trigger that wakes you stands at mid_camp 205,312.
    Corpse:
  9. Ask a scholar: Kidd thinks the crystal warps space and time. He asks you to ask a scholar about the spell scroll, and says Echinacea knows one.
  10. The old man by the fire: Echinacea points you to Defaria, an old scholar from Arunafeltz who is trying to roast sweet potatoes over wet firewood.
  11. Unsealing the scroll: Defaria agrees to unseal the scroll for 30 Holy Waters, 30 Runes of Darkness, 30 Bloody Runes and the Seal Scroll from the vision.
Defaria:
  1. Bring the materials: Bring the materials to Defaria and wait. He says the scroll teleports its user to the place an organisation gathers its members, and returns it unsealed (Unsealed Magic Spell).
  2. Use the scroll: Show the Unsealed Magic Spell to Mr. Kidd, who explains it, then use it from your bag. The scroll takes you to the Dandelions' hideout (the warp comes from the scroll itself). Find the side door to the basement at the gate near 21,37 and overhear the gang arguing with Rayan. The landing spot is set by the scroll itself, not by this quest.
Gate:
  1. Report to Kidd: Back in the camp, tell Kidd what you saw. The Dandelions are fighting among themselves, and Rin is interrogating a prisoner downstairs.
  2. The raving man: In the hideout (que_dan02) talk to the man who rants near 115,53. He is the person Rin is holding. Kidd stands next to him.
Man:
  1. The last errand: Kidd gives you the journal and the crystal for Rin and says this is his last job for you. The crystal now behaves like any ordinary Crystal of Darkness.
  2. Rayan breaks: In Rin's room (que_job01) near 144,54, hit the rambling prisoner Rayan Moore to calm him, as Rin asks. The crystal falls out of your jacket and a strange second voice speaks through him. Rin marks his body and gives you the journal and a pattern number to read out to Echinacea (one of three, random). The three possible numbers are SDHF92F-SDF, VWNM94GVWN90 and CM3-TRDFGHE0; copy it exactly.
Rin:
  1. The pattern number: Give the pattern number to Echinacea. She starts tracing the matching magic stone, which takes some time. Come back later and she sends you to the mana detector building south of the camp. A wrong number makes the trace fail; read it again from Rin.
  2. The mana detector: Ask the soldier managing the mana detector for the trace result. The magic wavelength is not near, but the paired stone is intact, so the target is alive.
Manager:
  1. Case closed: Tell Echinacea the result. Rayan is neither in Midgard nor in Ash-Vacuum; he must be with Satan Morocc. The pursuit ends for now. Reward: 120,000 base EXP, 20,000 job EXP and an Old Violet Box.
