The Bard in Prison (Prontera, Morocc and Einbroch) is an official episode chain for levels 1-200 in 24 steps. It starts at Rooney.

The lost delivery: In Prontera a kid named Rooney cannot find the bard he must give a letter to: Lasda Midar. Offer to help; take the letter.
Rooney: -
Lasda reads the letter: Find the singing bard, Lasda Midar, in the Prontera church and give him the letter. He reads it, looks worried, and gives you 100 zeny to take back to the kid. Select 'Are you Lasda Midar?' when he sings.
Lasda: -
Rooney's payment: Take the 100 zeny back to Rooney, who is glad to be paid. Have the 100 zeny with you.

A friend in prison: Talk to Lasda again. The letter came from his old friend Vitre, jailed in Morocc on false charges. Agree to help.

No visitors: In Morocc, ask the prison ward Jesse to see Vitre. He is held on suspicion of espionage and no visitors are allowed.
Prison Ward: -
A dish for the ward: Press him again: Jesse will let you in for a plate of Fried Monkey Tails. Bring him 1 and he sends you to Sir Krieg in Morocc Castle. The dish is a Luk Dish 01 (Fried Monkey Tails), a cooked item.

Krieg wants a reference: Krieg, the public security officer, will not let anyone see a spy suspect unless someone he trusts vouches for you. Ask Lasda for a letter.
Public Security Officer: -
The letter of reference: Back in Prontera, tell Lasda that Krieg refused. He knows Krieg well and writes you a letter of recommendation.

Krieg's approval: Give Krieg the letter. He respects Lasda and sends word to the ward that you may see Vitre.

The prisoner: Jesse lets you in. Talk to Vitre in his cell: he was arrested for no reason and needs a Megaphone and a Violin to get out. A prisoner next door says dancers in Comodo keep a Megaphone. Bring a Violin as well; you need both items.
- Hianna's bargain: At the Dancer job change hall in Comodo, Hianna will lend you a Megaphone. She wants 500,000 zeny as a rental fee and an escort for her Dancers to the Schwarzwald Republic. Agree to the deal. You pay the 500,000 zeny after the escort, not before.
- To the airship: Talk to any of the three Dancers at the entrance (85,49), (83,52) or (87,50) and say yes: you leave together by airship.
- On the airship: Talk to the Dancers on the airship until it lands in Einbroch. The last Dancer's answer is the one that lands you at the hotel in Einbroch.
- The hotel manager: At the hotel in Einbroch, the manager welcomes the party and starts the dinner.
- A secret meeting: Walk through the party to the table at (176,285). You overhear the host from the company and an Arunafeltz guest: some rogues in Arunafeltz are plotting against their good relations, and the two leave to talk somewhere safer.

Paid for the escort: Go back to the hotel manager, who thanks you and sends your payment.

The Megaphone: Talk to a Dancer to be taken back to Comodo, then pay Hianna her 500,000 zeny to receive the Megaphone. If you lose the Megaphone Hianna sells another one for 500,000 zeny, discreetly.

The jailbreak: Return to Vitre in his cell with the Megaphone and the Violin. He breaks out of the cell, stuns the ward with the Megaphone and walks away.

Three songs: Vitre waits in Morocc. He asks you to meet three singers, in this order: Chada in Prontera, Ghez in Geffen and Nosdan in Comodo, and learn each one's song.
- Chada's song: Chada, in the middle of Prontera, sings of a curse on the royal family.
- Ghez's song: Ghez, in the north-east of Geffen, sings about the knights of Prontera and Geffen guarding their towers, and a secret plan against the west.
- Nosdan's song: Nosdan, in the Northern Cave of Comodo, sings of a warrior who stops a group trying to revive Satan Morocc.

The arrest: Tell Vitre you heard all three songs. He gives you an Old Blue Box, and then Rune-Midgarts Secret Service agents arrest him and his three singers for spying. Reward: 1 Old Blue Box.

The sting: Talk to Lasda in Prontera. The jail visit, the escape and the songs were a sting to catch an Arunafeltz spy, and you were the unwitting go-between. He thanks you with a reward. Reward: 1 Accessory Box, base EXP (60,000).
