Captain Tarlock: On the international Airship (Izlude, Juno, Rachel), talk to Captain Tarlock (airplane_01, 238,154) and choose "How does this Airship fly?". He says it is a secret.
Captain Tarlock: -
Tarlock's favor: From base level 60, ask Tarlock again, choose "Yes, I really want to know!" and then "Sure.". He tells you the secret if you take a letter to his younger brother, Captain Ferlock. Starts quest log 8032.

Captain Ferlock: On the domestic Airship (Juno, Einbroch, Lighthalzen, Hugel), talk to Captain Ferlock (airplane, 236,163) and choose "Give him Tarlock's Letter.". The Gremlins and Beholders that attack Tarlock's Airship stole some of his things. If you are in the middle of the search for Thierry, Ferlock only talks about that until it is done.
Captain Ferlock: -
Ferlock's things: Bring Ferlock 2 Will of the Darkness and 2 Prickly Fruit and choose "Here are the items I've found.". Gremlins drop Will of the Darkness and Beholders drop Prickly Fruit. He gives you his reply for Tarlock.

How the Airship flies: Give Ferlock's reply to Tarlock (airplane_01, 238,154) and choose "I handed the letter to Captain Ferlock.". Talk to him twice more and pick the question about the letter each time, until he has read it all. He explains how the Airship flies. Reward: 20,000 base EXP and 1,000 job EXP.
