The Unlucky Emerald (Morocc to Prontera) is an official episode chain for levels 1-200 in 23 steps. It starts at Ragged Man. @guide shows your next step in game.

Walkthrough

  1. The ragged man: In Morocc talk to the Ragged Man at (143,63). He says a treasure is hidden near Morocc but he cannot walk to look for it.
    Ragged Man:
  2. A little money: Give the Ragged Man 1,200 Zeny. He points you to a man in the south of town.
  3. The man in the south: Find the man at (102,298) in south Morocc and ask about the treasure.
    Man:
  4. The deal: Listen to his offer and take it.
  5. The price: Bring him 2 Pearl, 2 Zargon and 20 Memento.
  6. The buried chest: Go to (108,116) on the field moc_fild18 and dig at the spot. The chest will not open.
  7. Half a spell: Tell the man in south Morocc the chest is sealed. He hands you half of a spell document.
  8. The other half: Find the Man in Hiding in Comodo at (339,224). He holds the other half.
    Man in Hiding:
  9. Open the chest: Back at the chest, say the whole spell (OpenSesame or UnlockTreasure, depending on the halves you hold). The chest opens. Reward: Unlucky Emerald, Dead Branch, Two-Handed Sword.
  10. Ibrahim looks at it: Show the Unlucky Emerald to Ibrahim in the Morocc ruins (152,147). Say you will study it. Needs Broken Diamond done (diamond_edq 26). If you say you will sell it, three jewellers (Jhonnita, Kimeunbang, Leblo) turn you away and send you back to Ibrahim.
Ibrahim:
  1. The antique appraiser: Visit the Scholar in Comodo (139,184). He knows the Cursed Jewels.
Scholar:
  1. The Story of the Emerald: Ask him again. He tells the jewel's story and sends you to a shaman in Alberta.
  2. The shaman: Show the Shaman in Alberta (70,109) the Unlucky Emerald.
Shaman:
  1. The fee: Pay the Shaman 200,000 Zeny; when the spirits want more, pay another 100,000 Zeny.
  2. The ritual items: Bring the Shaman 1 Red Blood, 1 Crystal Blue, 1 Wind of Verdure, 1 Witherless Rose and 1 Holy Water.
  3. The archaeologist: Ask the Archeologist in Juno (38,48) about the curse. He says there is none.
Archeologist:
  1. Back to the shaman: Tell the Shaman what the archaeologist said. He sends you to the high ground west of Geffen.
  2. The wanderer: On the field west of Geffen find the Wanderer at (182,185). He recognises the emerald. Speak to him twice.
The Wanderer:
  1. The records: Tell the Archeologist about the ghost. He finds a witness's records and names a retired soldier.
  2. The old soldier: Ask the Old Soldier in Prontera (140,304) about the fallen warrior.
Old Soldier:
  1. Confront the wanderer: Return to the Wanderer and press him about what really happened to his comrades.
  2. The soldier's story: Tell the Old Soldier you met the warrior's spirit.
  3. Give up the emerald: Hand the Unlucky Emerald to the Old Soldier. Below base level 66 you get a Yggdrasil Berry instead of EXP; at the level cap an Old Purple Box. Reward: Old Blue Box and base EXP by level (up to 100,000 at base 96 and up).
