Walkthrough

  1. The old smith: Talk to Mastersmith Gatti on Dewata Field (dew_fild01, 127,240). You need base level 60 and about 10000 weight free. When he asks where he is, type Dewata Island. Any other name sends him away in tears and you can ask again.

  2. Gatti's blueprint: Talk to Gatti again (dew_fild01, 127,240). He tells you about a weapon blueprint that needs Comodo Leather. If you have not yet finished the Jaty Crown quest (the natives' recognition), he waits for you to do it first. The recognition comes from the 'Jaty Crown' quest chain on Dewata.
  3. Recognized by the natives: Finish the Jaty Crown quest, then talk to Gatti (dew_fild01, 127,240). He asks you for 100 Comodo Leather.
  4. 100 Comodo Leather: Hunt Comodo (Comodo Leather drops 25% of the time; the rare
    Elusive Comodo     always drops one) until you carry 100 Comodo Leather. Bring them to Gatti (dew_fild01, 127,240).
  5. Gatti works the leather: Talk to Gatti again (dew_fild01, 127,240). He starts cutting the leather for the hilt.
  6. A hilt, and more to do: Talk to Gatti once more (dew_fild01, 127,240). He gives you a Keris Hilt and asks for 100 more Comodo Leather, 20 Steel and 10 Oridecon. Reward: 1 Keris Hilt.
  7. The Keris: Bring Gatti (dew_fild01, 127,240) the Keris Hilt, 100 Comodo Leather, 20 Steel and 10 Oridecon. He forges the Keris. Reward: 1 Keris.
  8. More Keris and reinforcing: Gatti can forge another Keris. Without a hilt he wants 50 Comodo Leather and 1 Log for the hilt; then 10 Oridecon, 20 Steel and 70 Comodo Leather with the hilt for the weapon. He can also reinforce a Keris for 100,000 zeny: the result is a random bonus and the weapon can break, so keep refined or carded ones elsewhere. Talk to him (dew_fild01, 127,240) and pick 'I need another Keris.' or 'Can I make it stronger?'.
