Memorial dungeon
Clean the drains. Never let six seaweeds stack.
Under the interior of Malangdo there is a culvert that floods with deep-sea monsters. A cat called Missing, the Cleaner, keeps it clean for a boss named Tomas. You are the cleaning crew for a few minutes, and what you earn comes from two places: the trophies on the floor at the end, and the hunting jobs from Albo.
Before you can enter
- Talk to Missing, the Cleaner once, alone. The first visit is a story scene with the shaking cat. Pick Are you ok?, keep talking, and at the end choose I will help if possible.... He gives you a memo with the password. This unlocks the entrance for you. Every party member does this once.
- Carry Seagod's Protection. Without it he refuses to open the door. The item is a rental item. This instance cannot be entered yet: nothing gives it out at the moment.
- Join a party. Missing says he needs "more than 1 member", but he only checks that you are in a party.
- The leader reserves. Talk to Missing and pick Aragam insulted me. That is the password. A reservation message appears.
- Everyone enters. The leader picks Enter the Culvert, the others Enter Culvert. A map announcement names your party. Entering starts the 1-hour wait, but you can still go back in during it if the gate is open.
Inside, the leader talks to Missing in the first room and picks a mode.
- "I know how to fight" (hard mode): only for level 140 and up. Under 140 he says you look weak.
- "I'm pretty good at delivering bread" (normal mode).
Then he asks everyone to move to the 3 o'clock side. A gate opens and you warp into the culvert.
The cleaning
Missing explains the rules in the culvert room. The leader says "Let's start!" and the clock runs.
- A drain opens about every 40 or 50 seconds at one random spot out of 6 (normal) or 10 (hard). A minimap marker shows each party member where it is. Missing announces the next one five seconds before.
- Click the open drain to clean it. Cleaning takes 10 seconds in normal mode and 15 seconds in hard mode. The cleaner cannot move or be attacked while it lasts.
- Each drain brings a pack of monsters. Normal mode: Deep Sea Crab,Deep Sea Marse,Deep Sea Vadon,Deep Sea Shellfish,Deep Sea Kukre andDeep Sea Cornutus, 1 to 3 of each. Hard mode:Deep Sea Marc,Deep Sea Sword Fish,Deep Sea Strouf,Deep Sea Anolian,Deep Sea Obeaune andDeep Sea Kapha, 2 to 3 of each.
- If nobody cleans a drain before its time is up (about 49 seconds in normal, 39 in hard), the pack disappears and a Seaweed grows near the start. The map shows "Contaminated Seaweed: N stem".
- Kill the seaweed to keep the count down. Five is fine. With six, Missing throws you out. The leader can talk to him and start again.
You do not need to kill the pack at a drain you clean: closing the drain is what stops the seaweed. Leftovers stay on the map.
Ten drains open in both modes. Normal mode ends at about 8 minutes 40 seconds, hard mode at about 7 minutes. If fewer than six seaweeds are alive then, you win the cleaning.
The Coelacanth
Ten seconds after the cleaning ends, Missing says he senses something strange. Twenty seconds after the cleaning ends the boss comes: a coin flip decides which.
| Mode | 50 % | 50 % |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | Weird Coelacanth (level 100, 2.2 million HP) | Gloomy Coelacanth (level 100, 2.2 million HP) |
| Hard | Mutant Coelacanth (level 155, 5.2 million HP) | Violent Coelacanth (level 155, 5.2 million HP) |
When the
Coelacanth dies the map says trophies lie on the ground. Missing asks you not to tell anyone about what you saw. The exit is the warp on the other side of the room.
Trophies on the floor
The game scatters 10 rolls of items on the floor. Each roll gives one of these (chance per roll) or nothing:
| Item | Normal | Hard |
|---|---|---|
| Malangdo Special Can | about 78 % | none |
| Poor Coin Bag | about 8 % | 40 % |
| E Grade Coin Bag | about 8 % | 20 % |
| D Grade Coin Bag | about 3 % | 20 % |
| C Grade Coin Bag | none | 10 % |
| High Weapon Box | about 3 % | 10 % |
The Coelacanth itself also drops coin bags, High Weapon Box, a card (about 0.01 %) and, from the hard-mode ones, Seagod's Anger at 50 to 70 %.
Albo's daily and weekly jobs
Albo (and his brother Madeca, who pays) give you hunting jobs for the culvert's monsters. You need level 90, and level 140 for the hard ones. Before talking to either, have some bag space free: they refuse if you carry too many kinds of items or too much weight.
| Job | You get | Task | Pay at Madeca |
|---|---|---|---|
| General daily | one at random | kill 20 of Deep Sea Crab, Deep Sea Marse, Deep Sea Vadon, Deep Sea Shellfish, Deep Sea Kukre or Deep Sea Cornutus | 2 B Class Coin |
| Hard daily (140+) | one at random | kill 30 of Deep Sea Marc, Deep Sea Sword Fish, Deep Sea Strouf, Deep Sea Anolian, Deep Sea Obeaune or Deep Sea Kapha | 1 A Class Coin |
| General weekly | one at random | kill one Weird Coelacanth or Gloomy Coelacanth | 1 Seagod's Anger |
| Hard weekly (140+) | one at random | kill one Violent Coelacanth or Mutant Coelacanth | 5 Seagod's Anger |
A daily job ends at 04:00 server time. A weekly one ends 7 days later at 04:00. Come to Madeca before it runs out: after that he refuses to pay. Once you are paid, or the job has run out, Albo shows "There is no new task" until the timer is over and you have spoken to Madeca once more.
The boss in the culvert is random, so the Coelacanth your weekly asks for may need more than one run. Each run takes about an hour of waiting because of the entry quest.
Notes
- Some culvert packs have other names on the monster pages (for example Deep Sea Crab and Abysmal Crab).
