Abyss Gate investment

Every week players and guilds invest zeny in the four castle fields, and the field with the most opens its Guild Dungeon and the Abyss Gate. When, where, how much, and what the server announces.

Abyss Gate

Invest from Wednesday, enter from Friday.

The Cat Paw Merchant Guild sells a way into the Abyss Gate, and it sells it to the castle field that invests the most. Each week the four castle fields (Valkyrie Realm, Greenwood Lake, Britoniah and Luina) compete in zeny. The winner opens its Guild Dungeon to players of any guild who pay the entrance fee, and its Abyss Gate to the guilds that hold its castles.

All times are server time; CET shows yours. The castle fields are the ones fought over in the War of Emperium.

In short:

From Wednesday to Friday you pay zeny (or Investment Certificates) to the Cat Paw Merchant of the castle field you back.
On Friday at 12:35 the server announces which field won.
The winning field's Guild Dungeon is open to players of any guild for 10,000 zeny a visit. The guilds that hold its castles can also use its Abyss Gate.

The week

Wednesday to Friday	Twelve interim results, about one every 5 hours. Each one is announced in chat and shown on the Investment Status Board.
Friday 12:00	Investing closes and the server counts. If fields tie for the top, a 30-minute extra vote opens (see below).
Friday 12:35	The results are announced. The gates open.
Friday 12:35 to Tuesday 20:00	The gates are open, except for the hour of a siege.
Tuesday 20:00	The gates close.

How to invest

Talk to the Cat Paw Merchant in the field you want, while investing is open, and choose "I want to invest in this area".

Zeny. 1 unit is 10,000 zeny. Pick 1, 10 or 50 units, or type any number from 1 to 200 (up to 2,000,000 zeny a visit).
Investment Certificates. Hand in 1 to 20 Cat Hand Investment Certificate a visit. Each one counts as 10 units, 100,000 zeny. Namis in Malangdo gives one certificate for a set of loot items, for example 2 Pieces of Queen's Wing or 5 Gemstones. The full list is on the Cat Paw Notice next to her .
Thanks tickets. Every unit also gives you 1 Thanks Invest Ticket. The Thanks Ticket Machine in Malangdo takes them for potions, siege quivers, elemental converters and Jelly Bags (a random item, for 5 or 50 tickets).
Your units count in the field where you pay them. If your guild holds a castle in that field, you choose the castle and the units count under your guild's name. Otherwise they count as the field's normal investment. A Gate Manager inside your castle (see below) takes investments for your guild too.

The Investment Status Board shows, for its field, each castle with its guild, the field's normal total and the grand total, in units of 10,000 zeny. It updates with every interim result and shows no numbers before the first one.

What the total opens

If no field reaches 70,000,000 zeny, the field with the highest total (it must be at 20,000,000 or more) gets the Abyss Gate, and the board then says "maximum achieved" for it too. If no field reaches 20,000,000, nothing opens that week.

A tie: the extra vote

When fields are level for the top, the server announces an extra vote. It runs for 30 minutes from Friday 12:00 at the Revoting Manager in Valkyrie Realm . Each player can vote once, for free, for one of the tied fields. Each vote adds 1 unit to that field's normal investment, and the field with the higher normal total then wins. If they are still level, one of them is picked by chance.

After the results

The winning field's Gate Manager (table above) lets players of any guild into the Guild Dungeon, floor 1 or floor 2, for 10,000 zeny a visit. Each fee adds 1 unit to that field's normal investment for next week.
A field that only reached the minimum keeps floor 2 for the guild that holds the castle.
Inside every castle stands a Gate Manager for the members of the guild that holds it. They can invest under the guild's name, go to floor 2 of their field's Guild Dungeon once it reached the minimum, and go through the Abyss Gate to the Hall of the Abyss once their field has won it.
Gates are shut during a siege. The Gate Managers send nobody in while a War of Emperium hour is running, and the gates close on Tuesday 20:00.

What the server announces

Every step is a blue [WoE] line in the chat, sent to everyone. The interim lines always name the four fields where the boards stand. The numbers and field names below are examples: they change with the week.
