You must be an Acolyte at Job Level 40 or higher to become a Priest. The test has three trials: a pilgrimage to visit three ascetics in the right order, a spiritual training room against demons and undead, and a final vow of devotion. Acolytes at Job Level 50 skip the pilgrimage.
💡You can bring a Priest friend into the spiritual training room. They need to carry 1x Rosary (Rosary) and talk to Bishop Paul before entering.
Visit High Bishop Paul inside the Prontera Sanctuary.
Enter the Prontera Sanctuary church building. Find Bishop Paul near the altar.
Tell him you want to become a Priest. He will explain the three trials and record your application.
Trial 1: Pilgrimage. Visit three ascetics in order (skipped at Job Level 50).
You must visit three ascetics in a specific order. Going to the wrong one first will not count.
Order:
- Father Rubalkabara — Northeast of Prontera, in the Prontera field.
- Mother Mathilda — Southwest of Prontera, near the Morocc field.
- Father Yosuke — Northwest of Prontera, in the Prontera field.
Talk to each one in order. After Father Yosuke, return to Bishop Paul.
âš ï¸Visit them in the exact order listed above. Visiting the wrong one first will have that ascetic turn you away.Trial 2: Spiritual training. Resist demons and undead.
Bishop Paul warps you to the spiritual training area. You will face waves of demon and undead monsters representing sins: Theft, Fury, Envy, Arrogance, and others.
The point of the trial is to survive and resist them, not just kill them. Fight through the rooms and progress to the exit.
If you brought a Priest friend, they can enter with you after showing a Rosary to Bishop Paul.
After completing the training, you will be warped back to the church.
Trial 3: Final vow. Prove your devotion.
Back in the church, return to Bishop Paul. He will ask you to make your vow of devotion to God. Answer sincerely (select the affirmative options). This is not a test you can fail.
After your vow, he promotes you to Priest.

What to do next as a Priest
- Heal is your core skill. Priests are in very high demand for parties.
- Resurrection brings dead party members back to life. Level this early.
- Sanctuary creates a healing area on the ground. Great for stationary fights.
- At Base Level 99 and Job Level 50, you can transcend to High Priest.
