Malangdo Culvert is a sea-monster hunting instance under the cat island of Malangdo. Normal mode (Base Level 90+) pits you against the Gloomy Coelacanth. Hard mode (Base Level 140+) sends you after the far more dangerous Mutant and Violent Coelacanths. Both modes have daily and weekly versions with different rewards.
💡Normal mode is accessible mid-game at Level 90. Hard mode at Level 140 is significantly tougher -- the Violent Coelacanth has over 5 million HP. Know which mode you are queuing for before entering.

Speak to Albo in Malangdo to receive the mission and unlock entry.
Albo is a cat NPC inside the Malangdo indoor area. He gives you the mission briefing for the culvert operation. Talk to him first to start the quest chain.
After talking to Albo, go to Missing the Cleaner at (160/34) in the same area. This NPC is the actual instance entry point.
Choose Normal or Hard mode and enter the culvert.
Missing the Cleaner offers both Normal and Hard versions, each with daily and weekly variants. The map used changes by mode:
- Normal mode -- map 1@pump (Base Level 90+)
- Hard mode -- map 2@pump (Base Level 140+)
Fight through the culvert to reach the boss.
The culvert is a waterway system under Malangdo. Fight through the Coelacanth fish that inhabit it. Weird Coelacanths (Weird Coelacanth) patrol throughout the culvert in both modes.
Follow the culvert path to reach the main boss chamber.
Defeat the Coelacanth boss.
The boss differs between modes:
| Mode | Boss | Level | HP | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Normal | Gloomy Coelacanth | 100 | 2,200,000 | Tanky fish boss; manageable at Level 90+ with a full party |
| Hard | Mutant Coelacanth + Violent Coelacanth | 155 | 5,200,000 (Violent) | Two bosses appear in Hard mode; Violent Coelacanth is the main threat |
In Hard mode, both Mutant Coelacanth and Violent Coelacanth appear. Focus Violent Coelacanth first -- its 5.2 million HP and Level 155 stats make it the primary danger.
Collect rewards from the culvert clear.
Daily rewards (both modes):
Grade A or B Coins -- awarded for daily clear completion
Weekly rewards:
Sea God's Wrath -- 1 token (Normal weekly)
Sea God's Wrath -- 5 tokens (Hard weekly)
Notes
- Four separate cooldowns. Normal daily, Hard daily, Normal weekly, and Hard weekly all have separate timers. You can run up to four culvert variants per week.
- Two-boss Hard mode. Both Mutant and Violent Coelacanth appear in Hard. Do not underestimate Mutant Coelacanth as a secondary threat -- it will chip your tank while you focus Violent.
- Weekly > daily value. Sea God's Wrath tokens from weekly clears are more valuable than the Grade Coins from daily clears. Prioritize your weekly run on reset day.
- Mid-game accessible. Normal mode at Level 90 is one of the earlier instances in the game. A solid party can clear it well before endgame.
