The hospital in Port Malaya has been overrun. The spirit Bangungot -- a creature from local legend that sits on sleeping victims and gives them nightmares -- has taken over the second floor. Nurse Maenne at the dungeon entrance sends adventurers in to drive her out. The instance is the second floor of the Malaya hospital dungeon (1@ma_h).
💡This is a mid-level Port Malaya instance. Base Level 100 required. You must be part of the "Nurse in Port Malaya" quest chain (quest 9222 or 9224) to create the instance. Can be run solo after the pre-quest.
Requirements
| What | Details |
|---|---|
| Base Level | 100 minimum |
| Party | Party recommended; can be run with the leader as the only requirement |
| Pre-quest | "Nurse in Port Malaya" quest chain (quests 9222 and 9224) |
| Cooldown | 20 hours (quest 9223) |
Talk to Nurse Maenne at the dungeon entrance to enter.
Nurse Maenne stands at the entrance to the hospital dungeon (ma_dun01). She checks your quest state and your party. The party leader selects "Enter the second floor" to create the instance and enter.
If you have already completed the hospital quest (quest 9222 hunting complete), she will let you enter directly on the cooldown cycle.
Fight through the second floor of the hospital.
The second floor (1@ma_h) is a haunted hospital full of Bangungot's servants. The floor is split into rooms and corridors with wave spawns of:
- Manananggal (monster 2311) -- flying undead spirit creatures
- Manananggal Ringleader (monster 2766) -- stronger leader variant
Fight through every room on the floor. There is no fixed path -- you clear rooms as you find them. The hospital floor has many small rooms branching off a central corridor.
Find and defeat Bangungot.
Bangungot (Level 115, HP 1,519,517) appears in the central area of the second floor after enough of her servants are cleared.
| Boss | Level | HP | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bangungot | 115 | 1,519,517 | Shadow/Undead element; hits with nightmare and sleep status effects |
The fight is straightforward. She does not have a complex mechanic but the sleep and nightmare status effects can lock your party out of fighting. Bring Green Potions or Panacea.
âš ï¸Bangungot can put the entire party to sleep simultaneously. Stagger your healing so not everyone is asleep at once. A Sage or Sorcerer with Dispell helps a lot.Collect your rewards and leave through Nurse Maenne.
After Bangungot dies, talk to the Nurse inside the instance (she appears near the exit) to collect your rewards.
Ancient Grudge -- 7 (VIP) or 5 (non-VIP) per clear500,000 base EXPNotes
- The pre-quest takes a while. The "Nurse in Port Malaya" chain has multiple steps including exploring the hospital, collecting quest items, and talking to several NPCs across Port Malaya.
- Status immunity helps. The Bangungot fight is much easier if your party has sleep and nightmare resistance from consumables or equipment.
- 20-hour cooldown. This is one of the shorter instance cooldowns. You can run it daily.
- Hunting quest check. If you have quest 11309 active and hunting Manananggal inside the instance, completing it triggers extra dialogue from Nurse Maenne acknowledging the kill.
