Three floors of caves beneath Abyss Lake in the Hugel field. Dragon-type monsters ranging from level 84 to 135. All three floors are for 3rd-class or well-geared 2nd-class characters. The MVP Detardeurus on floor 3 is one of the strongest non-Thanatos MVPs in the game.
âš ï¸Entry requires three Dragon Scale items (Fin, Fabric, and Skin -- mob drops from the three Ferus/Novus types). You hand them to a stone column at hu_fild05. Bring the items before you travel.
💡Bring Holy Water or Holy element attacks. The Holy-element Acidus on floor 3 is weak to Shadow. Fire-element Ferus is weak to Water. Earth Ferus is weak to Fire.
Access
Start in Hugel. Head south through the fields to Abyss Lake (hu_fild05). Find the stone column at the lakeside -- talk to it with a Dragon Scale Fin, Fabric, and Skin in your inventory. The column opens a warp into the cave. The Warp Network does not directly reach this dungeon; take the Kafra to Hugel first.

Floor 1 (abyss_01) -- Levels 110-130
Ferus (Ferus, Lv 126, Earth) and Ferus (Ferus, Lv 126, Fire) are the main targets. Penomena (Penomena, Lv 85, Poison) wanders the floor -- Ghost element attacks do not work on it. Novus and Novus (Novus, Lv 84-90, Neutral) are weaker fillers.
Dragon Scale Fabric drops from Earth Ferus. Dragon Scale Fin drops from Fire Ferus. You need both for the column quest entry.
Floor 2 (abyss_02) -- Levels 120-135
Acidus (Acidus, Lv 130, Wind) is the dominant mob. Ferus (Fire Ferus) continues here. Wind Acidus is weak to Earth element.
Floor 3 (abyss_03) -- Levels 125-140
Acidus (Acidus, Lv 130, Holy) fills the floor -- these require Shadow element attacks. Hydrolancer (Hydrolancer, Lv 121, Dark) is a rare patrol mob.
MVP: Detardeurus (Detardeurus, Lv 135, Dark) spawns on floor 3. One of the toughest MVPs. Brings heavy physical and magic attacks. Its card blocks incoming skills at a fixed rate.
