You must be a Swordman at Job Level 40 or higher to become a Crusader. The quest has four stages: prove your determination with items, survive an endurance corridor, pass a zombie trial, and take a written test.
💡You need a Rosary (Rosary) equipped during the second stage. Pick one up from any accessory shop before you start.
Go to the Prontera Sanctuary and find the Crusader, Michael Halig.
The Crusader test starts inside the Prontera Sanctuary, in the upper-right section of the church.
Tell him you want to become a Crusader. He will give you a fetch task to prove your determination. You will be assigned one of three random item sets (10 of each):
- Set A: Decayed Nail, Stinky Scale, Worn-out Prison Uniform, Daenggie
- Set B: Skel-Bone, Orc Claw, Manacles, Short Daenggie
- Set C: Horrendous Mouth, Rotten Bandage, Lantern, Jack o' Pumpkin
Alternatively, if you already carry 1x Chivalry Emblem (Chivalry Emblem) and 1x Hand of God (Hand of God), he will skip the fetch task and send you straight to Stage 2.
Collect your assigned items and return to Michael Halig.
Endurance corridor: walk to the end without killing any monsters.
Michael Halig sends you to the underground dungeon of Prontera Castle to meet Murnak Mijoul.
âš ï¸You must have a Rosary (Rosary) equipped on your accessory slot when you talk to Murnak. He will not let you in without it.Murnak explains the test: walk to the far end of the corridor. You are not allowed to kill any monsters along the way. Stay calm, weave around them, and reach the end.
Return to Murnak after completing the corridor.
Zombie trial: survive spiritual training.
After the corridor, you will be sent to a spiritual training area. You must resist demons and the undead. A Priest friend can accompany you in this area if they carry a Rosary.
Complete the training room and return to the entrance NPC to exit.
Written test: answer questions about Crusader lore.
The fourth stage is a written test. Read the questions carefully and pick the correct answers. The questions cover Crusader class knowledge.
After passing the written test, return to Michael Halig in the Prontera Sanctuary.
He will confirm all tests are complete and promote you.

6x Red Potion (12x if you were Job Level 50)
What to do next as a Crusader
- Holy Cross is your main damage skill. Level it alongside Grand Cross as you progress.
- Devotion lets you absorb damage for a party member. A great support skill in groups.
- At Base Level 99 and Job Level 50, you can transcend to Paladin.
